Ek Taara is an indie fashion brand from India started by my dear friend and talented designer, Priyanka Chugh. When Priyanka got in touch with me to collaborate with Ek Taara and style a few pieces of her collection in my blog, I was totally thrilled about it! First of all, her designs are cute and creative and second, she puts her heart and soul into designing each and every piece of her collection. She aims at mixing “Indian crafts and identities into making something ‘Cool’ and pretty much wearable for any occasion” and her designs for sure reflects this philosophy!
I picked a few items from her collection that fitted so well with my personal sense of style and here is the first one of the lot. It’s a short silk summer dress that is so flowy and soft that I hardly felt like I was wearing anything!! 😉 Must say, quite ideal for a hot summer. It’s a dress that can effortlessly transition from a day dress to an evening wear and that’s what I loved the most about it. Not to mention the bright print and the detailing that gave a beautiful summer feel to the off-white base of the dress. I used bohemian styling to bring out the best elements of this silk dress and I hope you enjoyed it!
If you want to know more about Ek Taara or shop their products, do visit the site and their Facebook page.
Let me take a break from my outfit posts for a while and do some shopping talk for a change!
I think I have mentioned like a hundred times till now that I love shopping (which fashion blogger doesn’t, right?!) and I am more of a online shopping addict! I love going to brick and mortar stores once in a while, but with a full time job, a blog and a house to run, I get very little free time to actually visit the malls and browse through endless number of racks for one basic T-shirt! So to cut it short, online shopping is my thing. However, there are a few items that I find difficulty buying online and eyewear is one such thing. I simply cannot visualise how would I look wearing one of those cute sunglasses that I just loved on the internet. If you go through a similar online shopping issue this post is indeed a must-read. Here I am reviewing Lenskart, one of India’s leading online shopping portal for eye wear. Lenskart.com offers a huge variety of classics to super stylish range of glasses at affordable price point and dollops it up with some super cool features that makes eyewear shopping quite convenient for online shopping junkies like you and me!
1. Great Variety to choose from!
All of these and more! I was quite thrilled to see an amazing variety of sunglasses and eyewear in Lenskart that I have seen in any other online shopping sites before! To top it all up, they sell some trusted and renowned brands assuring high quality products.
1. Free Home Trial
No words to describe this feature. I think it’s one of the best!
4. 3D Virtual Try OnNow isn’t it cool! I am often a bit skeptical buying sunglasses online as most of them do not suit my face type. I only believe in try and buy from a proper store. But all thanks to this cutting edge feature of Lenskart, I can now confidently shop sunglasses online! Yoohoo!
5. Super Affordable
Prices start from Rs 599/- and it can’t get any cheaper than this! For instance, this gorgeous pair is just for Rs599/-, can you believe it!
6. Ships Internationally with Multiple Payment Methods- I really like to talk about shops that ship international as I have quite a few international readers. And I am so glad to let all my readers know that Lenskart ships internationally with the convenience of multiple options of payment. So, all my international readers/followers, if you visit the site and love something, be assured you can buy them too
Last but not the list, here are 3 of my favorites from Lenskart
I hope you enjoyed reading the post.
My weekend plan is definitely to go eye-wear shopping! What’s your’s?

I have a special soft corner for animal prints in general and leopard prints in particular. (Have also worn animal print here and here recently!!) It is probably an outcome of my obsession with animals. For me, leopard print is also one of the most classic and stylish prints ever designed!
Today’s look is all about matching my outfit to the humid weather that we are experiencing right now. I usually stick to silhouettes that are slightly closer to the body, but today I seriously wanted to relax in an easy-breezy outfit. I am so glad that the over-sized trend is quite ‘in’ this season because on days warm days like this, a loose top and bottom combo is all you need for a laid back casual look. Wearing a over-sized outfit is quite tricky if you are petite like me ( I am little more than 5.3″ to be precise!) but the high heeled booties and the dark colored pants quite balanced out my proportions! I kept my make up and hair quite natural to complement my casual look.
How has been your week so far and how is the weather treating you in your part of the world? Let me know if you are waiting for the weekend as eagerly as I am and of course do share your thoughts on my look of the day!

When the mercury soars, I seek solace in loose silhouettes, shorts and soothing colors! Blue has always been my most favorite summer shade and the lighter it is the more serene it looks. So for a hot and humid day out I thought it to be the best to pair my Mango denim shorts (also wearing here) with this loose cotton printed summer jacket for a perfect blend of comfort and style. I love the Indian print on the top and the little pom-poms on the tie-up cords and also love the fact that it’s so light-weight! Just when my outfit started looking too casual, I put on a pair of towering heels to it (don’t ask me how I walked in them!!! :)) and pouted in my gorgeous red lipstick to add some style! 😉
Denim shorts are a fail-proof summer must-have and it’s extremely easy to style it with almost anything and everything. In fact my tip for a casual day wear is- When in doubt, wear denim!

There are days when I just need an excuse to wear a lot of colors. Today was such a day when I picked up this boxy bright pink top to wear and all I could think of was teaming it with mustard, orange and more pink! I even wore these mirrored sunglasses and blue nails for extra impact Less could be more but sometimes more is just fun! I did manage to grab some attention with all the bright colors and seriously looked like a multi-colored diva lost in the woods while doing the photo shoot.
I guess I will keep my write up short today as my photographs are doing all the talking.
Enjoy your week guys! I will see you soon with a new post!
Happy Monday Fashion Lovers! How are you all today?
Did you get a chance to check out my first post on my favourite fashion trends from Spring/Summer 2015 runway. If not, do so immediately because I genuinely feel it’s worth a read!! So, here is a continuation of the same post where I am adding a few more cool trends from Summer 2015 runway that are a ‘must try out’ this season.
If you love everything to do with the sea and surfing, I am sure you are already excited about this trend. A beautiful mix of nautical stripes, lovely shades of cobalt and navy teamed with shades of white and red, nautical is quite a hot trend this summer. Plus this kind of colour palate is quite soothing during a hot summer day. Try thick or thin stripes depending on your comfort level and wear them in a dress, a top, or if you are feeling daring, try them in a pair of trousers as well.
Of course we all know that white is always in for summer and it’s only about finding the right trendy silhouettes for the season. I have nothing to add about this very beautiful colour other than saying ‘just wear it!’. Try out some pretty summer dresses, lace tops, clean trousers or crop blazers in white and feel and look pretty this summer.
There is no right or wrong season to wear prints. Prints are beautiful and comes in such a great variety that you are bound to find something that you’ll love. I am quite excited to be absolutely spoiled with choices when it comes to prints this summer. There are splatter prints, water colour effects, mix of unusual print combos, quirky, pop art inspired…and phew..a lot more. Plus, we have the regular florals, tropical and animal prints that are always there at our disposal! 😉
Just pick your favourites my darlings!!
Ombre effect not only looks elegant, it’s also one of the prevailing trends for Spring/Summer 2015. Whether it’s achieved by regular ombre dying or as a print, but the whole gradation effect of colours is gorgeous and is something I would personally love to try out. If these stunning dresses are not your style and you’d love to do the ombre in a casual way, try ombre washed denim shirts and bottoms and stay cool in the summer of 2015
Opulence in terms of heavy surfaces ornamentation was splashed all across the Sping/Summer 2015 runway and is quite fascinating to see such elaborate craftsmanship. Heavy embroidery, oversized sequins, patch and beadwork are just to name a few of the surfaces embellishments that we all witnessed in the runway. Such elaborate surface work makes for great party wear and can surely make one the show-stopper of any event. A subtle version of such ornamentation can sure work for a regular evening outs as well. It’s all about styling this trend right to suit all occasions!
Vibrance at it’s experimental best, neon is one big colour type for summer 2015. I understand that one has to be really daring to sport an all over neon (or may be not!) but there are always a plenty of ways to bring in some neon flavour to your wardrobe. How about a neon accessory? Or perhaps neon as accents to a basic coloured outfit? In fact an all over neon dress can look brilliant if teamed with a denim/leather jacket for a casual day out as well.
Geometry is back again in fashion and this time in a very elaborate manner with bright colours and patterns. Apart from the basic monochrome stripes and checks, its exciting to see some really interesting geometric patterns and multicolored stripes on the runway and there are so many ways to incorporate them to our everyday wardrobe as tops, skirts and dresses.
I hope with this list of my favorite fashion trends from Spring/Summer 2015 runway it becomes easier f you to stock up your wardrobes with summer fashion and ready to glow bright and happy just like the summer sun shine. Don’t forget to share your favorite trends from the list and add in if I have missed anything!
See you soon with a new post! Enjoy your brand new week!
I know I should have posted my favourite fashion trends from Spring/Summer 2015 runway a long time back, but I wanted to spend a lot of quality time to create this post. Firstly, I am so excited to see so many new trends this summer on the runway. Secondly, a lot of my favourite trends from last summer and winter are getting carried forward, which means I can wear them a lot longer them now! So compiling all of these not only took me quite a while, I also had to break this post into two parts
So have a look at the first part of my favourite trend for Spring/Summer 2015 straight from the runway and take some tips along to incorporate them to your personal style!
Yes, I know ‘broken symmetry’ also means ‘asymmetrical’ but somehow that sounded more fancy! Asymmetrical cuts, asymmetrical prints and any other kind of asymmetry one can think of is all ‘in’ for Spring/Summer 2015 and I think it’s a great way to break the monotony of trying hard to keep everything balanced in life. For a casual day out, asymmetric frills and cute dresses can be wonderful and for a more sophisticated evening look, try body con dresses and straight cuts with some element of broken symmetry in them. I am also loving the asymmetric patchwork and panelling, though I doubt if I can go that loud with breaking the symmetry!
If you have a bohemian at heart it’s time to get really happy. Bohemian look is in this summer and can be tried out not just in the music festivals, but also on a regular day out. Boho prints, colourful boho dresses and a loads of fringes are all splashed across the runway for Spring/Summer 2015 and this theme has been used by many designers. Bohemian is definitely one of my most favourite trends for Summer of 15 and I have already created quite a few Boho outfit posts already. If you think a total Bohemian look is just not you, try using some elements of it to a normal outfit-like a fringed bag, finger boots or just some boho prints
I know we all want to take a break from dark winter shades and enjoy some brightness and colourful prints in summer. But just to let you know, black coloured outfits are quite huge on Spring/Summer 2015 runway. I, for sure, can wear black all year round! If you have a serious love for this classic colour too, feel free to continue wearing some bit of black all throughout Summer 2015. I don’t think I need to tell anyone how to sport black, but trying black laces dresses, sporty black mesh tops and short shirt dresses in black can look just awesome!
The sweeter and romantic version of conventional checks, gingham is one big trend for Summer 2015. Gingham comes in a variety of colours (including black and grey of course) and a pretty dress or a skirt, flawy trousers or some accessories in gingham will be a great way to incorporate it into your summer wardrobe. Less is more when in comes to talking about gingham, but this trend is a must have for summer 2015!
Military theme is a carry forward from winter fashion trend but with light weight fabrics, figure hugging silhouettes and crop jackets making it more feminine and summer appropriate. With shades of military greens and browns, cool garment details and crisp cuts, military trend gives that perfect smart casual look. Try out a military green shirt dress or a jumpsuit with epaulettes or military brown slouchy pants with heavy pocket details to rock this look on a everyday basis.
PRETTY IN PASTEL
Pastels shades retained their magic all throughout last summer and even survived the winter chills and is here to stay this season as well! I am surely going to call them the classics! I am sure you’ll want to try these soft and lovely pastels in the new silhouettes of summer and beat the heat feeling fresh and feminine.
So here ends the first part of my favourite fashion trends for summer and I will be back very very soon with the second part. In the mean time, would you like to share with me your favourites from Spring/Summer 2015 fashion trends?

Another piece of my design picked for an outfit shoot! Yeah, this pink corduroy dress is a part of my recent collection too and though I am not much of a ‘light pink’ person, the slightly toned down version of the shade quite appealed to me. Plus the length and the fit was just right for a casual summer evening out. Agreed it’s too hot to wear a jacket, but if you are indoors in AC most of the time, a denim jacket surely comes handy. My all time favourite wayfarers from Ray ban and black booties from Mango were the perfect co-ordinates to create a cool, summer street look.

Hello lovely readers! How has been your Sunday so far?
My Sunday has been quite relaxing after a very long time. Work kept me quite busy for the last 2 weeks and I was running out of blog posts to publish. Finally got to do some photo shoots today and here goes the first one from the lot. I am wearing a complex mix of prints, colors and patterns today and totally loving it! I would normally wear something in black or white with a skirt like this one, as you might have seen in one of my previous posts. But today was a day to have fun with something unusual and interesting! Precisely why I mixed this cute paisley printed top from Only and pink heels with a striped monochrome skirt. Must say, I am happy with the results and would love to know your thoughts on the same!!
For those of you who had been enquiring about my new posts, thanks a lot for being patient and I promise to be more regular in the future!
Jumpsuit : Alcott / Shoes : Miss Bennett London / Ear Studs : Local Shops in India
Blue is my favourite shade this summer and I am not getting enough of it lately. Here is another outfit showing my latest blue obsession. This off-shouldered jumpsuit has been lying in my wardrobe for quite a while now and this is the second time I am wearing it for a blog photo-shoot. I love the comfortable cotton knit fabric and anything off-shouldered is quite ideal for the Indian summer. Also love the fact that this jumpsuit is quite elegant and gives such a feminine look instead of the casual feel of regular jumpsuits. With a piece as beautiful as this, the best thing is to keep the accessories to a minimum and the let one item of your look get all the attention. I also did the dark eyes, nude lips kind of make-up with an attempt to bring out the sensuousness of the outfit.
