5 TYPES OF DENIMS YOU NEED RIGHT NOW!

Let’s talk denim. It’s one category that we all own, love and can’t live without.

Today I am talking about 5 types of denims that absolutely need right now!

Yes, you heard me right! Even for someone like me, who believe in shopping less and wearing more, I do think these 5 types of denims are here to stay a lot longer than you can imagine. So everyone is going to get a chance to wear a good deal of them! 🙂

PLEATED DENIM

I worked in a denim mill a few years back. The way denim trend was forecasted back in then, I did see pleated denim getting really popular. And here we are, 5 years later, wearing them everywhere! The slouchy fit, the comfort and the versatility, there is so much to love about the pleated style denim!

EMBELLISHED DENIM

Embellished denims are in trend for a while. Going by the popularity and I do see them stay a bit longer. So I do recommend you own a pair if you are a fan of these types of denims. I got myself these embellished denims with metallic pearls. However, any kind of embellishment is going to look great for sure. Do you have a favorite?

CROPPED DENIM

This one is my favorite and I also call them denim culottes. You may have seen me wearing different kinds of culottes several times on my blog and Social Media. Denim, Corduroy, Velvet, Linen, Cotton, Polyester; I have worn a pair of culottes in them all. So needless to say, I strongly recommend culottes or cropped denims. They are easy to style,  comfortable to wear and great if you are someone like me, who prefer pants over skirts!

WIDE LEGGGED DENIM

Out of all the types of denims, the wide legged version is probably the trickiest! What I mean is, it is not for all body types as this length and fit can make one look shorter and a bit bulkier. Don’t get me wrong, you can still wear them if you are petite and plus size. But you have to really know how to style this pair! I am not very tall myself and I still wear wide legged denims. But unless you are very good in styling, may be avoid this one.

But wide legged denims are here to stay. So if you have mastered the art of styling this types of denims, or you are one of those skinny tall and blessed kinds, go get yourself a pair!

STRAIGHT FIT DENIM

These are another of my favorite, easy to wear denim types. I love them because they are just so versatile and almost classic. A pair of straight fit denims, with a darker and cleaner wash, can even be worn to work with a crisp white shirt. What is not to love about that?

Apart from the above list, we also have our classic skinny jeans, boot cut denims and boyfriend fit that are worth mentioning. Personally I do love the skinny and the boyfriend fit, but am not a big fan of the bootcut denims any longer! Though I did an entire post a couple years back on why you need bootcut pants in your life, I am kind of over them now. I did a little DIY to my exiting pair so I can keep wearing them a bit longer. But I definitely don’t intend to buy another boot cut pair any time soon!

I hope you enjoyed reading my post today. Let me know on social media which type of denims you are planning on buying! 🙂
