Athleisure

by

Athleisure wear is not my thing, or so I thought. But in fashion, the thumb rule is to never say never.

You will be amazed by how frequently you can fall in and out of love with a trend, an item or a color. You are probably seeing me in a new avatar. Yes, I love comfort in everyday clothing and my style is definitely towards being casual and laid back. But crop top, sneakers and boy-friend jeans all piled together has never been my style.

I joined the gym a week back and perhaps that inspired me to try out the athleisure wear even when I am not working out. Well, this is not the first time that I am getting physically active. Cardio is my favorite form of exercise and I used to go jogging for 30-45 minutes, 6 days a week without fail. Then I shifted to Guwahati and this city lacks the infrastructure required for outdoor activities of that sort. Plus the climate here is slightly unpredictable. So, instead of sitting around blaming the circumstances, I joined a friendly neighbourhood gym. Although its been only a week I already feel a lot better, more energetic and very positive.

I am yet to get close to my dream body. I am 5 kgs below my ideal weight and I got a layer of fat around my waist due to months of inactivity. I also realised that  don’t have enough arm strength and pumping weights to strengthen this area of my body.

But at least I know that I am working towards healthy living and will get back to my preferred body shape soon.

I don’t know whether to call my athleisure look of the day a celebration of being body positive or a venture into a new area of fashion. But I kind of like myself in this new look and am definitely going to do it more often. Needless to say athleisure wear is ultimate in comfort!

As I embrace a new look and a new lifestyle, I am also very curious to know how do you all take time out to stay fit. Do you have a particular fitness regime that you follow or are still struggling with time to start one? Let’s discuss and motivate each other into living healthy and feeling great!

Before I had Little O, I used to train 3 – 5 days a week but now I have such limited time that I can’t manage to fit it in. I hope to go back to the gym when he is a little older.

I can understand, motherhood takes away a lot of time. Little O is growing up real fast and looks adorable! Am sure you will definitely have some time for yourself once he is old! Till then enjoy the blissful time with your baby! 🙂
