Dress : Faballey from Jabong / Shoes : Miss Bennett London from Jabong / Jewellery : Local Shops in India

It’s the onset of the Valentine’s Day week and I seriously wanted to do a love inspired photo shoot on my fashion blog. You know, the traditional pinks, flowers, roses and hearts kind of a thing! However, I have never ever been the ‘girly’ girl and pink is not quite my colour. I do wear pink, the dark pink or what you can call the hot pink. But lighter pastel pinks are just not me.

So, I had to pick an outfit that gels with my personality and has that whole Valentine’s Day feel about it. It wasn’t that difficult though. I am totally into online shopping and Jabong happens to be my favorite online fashion shop. This pretty printed lady-like dress arrived two days back from my favourite fashion shop and I teamed it up with a pair of pink high-heeled pumps. That was all I needed to put together my Valentine’s day inspired look!

Pankaj and I hunted down almost one-third of the city for a perfect backdrop for the shoot and as it turned out, the spot was right next to our house. We took the advantage of the rows of lovely Bougainvillea peeping down at us from over a tall wall. The varying shades of pink gave such a dramatic look to our photo shoot! When the light is right and the back ground is good, you can complete a photo shoot in 20 minutes flat. Rest of the evening was spent having coffee and taking a long drive that we usually do after a blog photo shoot.

Style Tips : If you are my type, someone who is not much into pink and all things girly and still would love to dress up for a Valentine’s Day, pick your outfit smartly. Look for feminine silhouettes but avoid skater or frilly dresses. A sheath dress like the one am wearing suits most body types as it accentuates the waist. A non-directional neutral print balances out your body and doesn’t make one look too thin or too flabby. For a day event you may also want to try a maxi dress with a floral head band!

Happy Valentine’s Week! In case you didn’t know there is a  blog anniversary giveaway going on in my blog! Take part and win an exciting gift hamper. Check out the post for all the details. Just to let you all know, the giveaway hamper is sponsored by the same fashion shop from where I picked my entire outfit today.

I will see you very soon with yet another post and if you have any questions or thoughts, pour them out on the comments section below.
