At the very onset I would like to wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year! I hope 2017 has a lot of wonderful surprises in store for each one of you.
As I start looking forward to another year with hope and excitement, I would also love to take a pause and look back at the year gone by. 2016 was a significant year for me. I made the big decision to quit my day job and start blogging full time. Things are going great so far and I am all refreshed, energized and ready to face the new year! I have a lot of interesting activities planned out for my blog and I am sure you are going to enjoy going through them all. In short, I anticipate 2017 will be a good one!
My first post this year has to be a recap of my top fashion posts from 2016. Helps me keep a track of how much me and my style has evolved in all these months. So, here are my top 15 favorite outfits from 2016 and I hope you love them as much as I do. I do a recap of top fashion posts every year but this time around I do have the links of similar products for you to shop from, in case you like anything that I am wearing!
Udaipur Day 2 : Hounds Tooth
I had worn this outfit in January last year during our trip to the beautiful Udaipur city with my husband and his family. I remember how cozy and classy this outfit was and it was so timeless that I can wear the same combination even today and not feel out of fashion at all! It was probably one of my first fashion cum travel post and will always be a memorable one.
Love, Pink and Flowers
Put together a quintessential pink outfit for Valentine’s Day last year. I can’t believe this look got selected as one of the best in a Valentine’s Day look contest by Jabong.com and I won a shopping voucher from them! Isn’t that exciting! Wining the contest was a big deal for me at that point of time as I wanted to shop a bit more for a vacation coming up. That is one of the reasons why I still consider it on of my top fashion posts.
Travel and Fashion
This is my favorite post ever and this post rightfully made it to my favorite top fashion posts list. I could mix my love for fashion and travel in a single article with a look book plus a write up about our trip to Mount Abu. Plus I totally love this black frock coat that I received as a part of my collaboration with SheIn.
Brownie Points!
I always love experimenting with my style and in this post I tried out some earthy shades after ages of wearing bright colors. I guess I have evolved from that phase where brighter colors meant everything to me. I love the toned down version of me and the outfit in this post. Do check the link for more photographs.
Bardot Crop Top + High-Waist Pants
Bardot neckline was really a huge fashion trend last summer and this was my first post wearing a bardot crop top. This look was featured in Cliche’ Magazine Street style section in their June/July 16 issue which was indeed a great honor!
How to Wear a Black Outfit in Summer?
I was in Ahmedabad last summer, a place with such a hot climate that wearing an all black look was simply out of question. But when it comes to fashion, you can bend rules, break rules and deal with a bit of climatic discomfort. I did exactly that and put together an all-black look for harsh summer weather of a tropical country like India. A must read for some fashion tips and outfit photographs!
Trip to Thol Bird Sanctuary
Another travel and fashion post from a day trip to the beautiful Thol Bird Sanctuary and my outfit of the day. Sometimes it’s best to relax in a jeans and a T-shirt and it felt wonderful sporting this casual look.
Cody and Me!
I love love love showing off my cute pets on my blog but sadly my dogs are too ill-mannered to cooperate! But that one day, my boy Cody was in a good mood, my outfit was good and the photography so cute that this quickly became one of the top fashion as well as ‘most-viewed’ posts on my blog.
Little Black Sequin Dress
I still remember how difficult this photo shoot was with me having to stand on a slope with towering heels on. But this background was worth all the pain. I love this sequin dress and the photographs in general and I hope you liked them too!
Fashion Dilemma
I often go completely blank while writing my post title and this post was one of those many where the title could be a bit distracting. While the content was pretty much in sync with the title, the photo shoot was probably not. But none of you complained about it, so I guess it’s not as bad as I think! I love this dress, the styling and the background of this post which is why despite all my dislike towards the title, it still made it to my top fashion posts list. Do you like this outfit as much as I do?
The Sunset
I love the cool and casual vibe of this look and also the fact that after a lot of hard work I am slowly getting back to shape. I know I still have a long way to go but it feels great when your workout routine starts showing some results. As an added bonus, the natural dreamy light was amazing that day and the photographs came out good too!
Denim Addict
It was a love at first sight with this cute denim dress! I picked it from Zaful as a part of my ongoing collaboration with them and I can’t wait to style this dress again soon. I think this love affair is here to stay! However, my experiences during the photo shoot were quite nasty and I could barely enjoy my moments with this dress while wearing it. All the more reasons why I should wear this denim dress again!
Faux Leather for Fall
I have always loved faux leather because of the shine and edge that it adds to an outfit. I keep them securely tucked away during the summer months because it gets too hot and humid, but I always make it a point to style new looks with my faux leather items. This was my first faux leather outfit post this winter and quite a recent one. I guess some of you still remember this post 🙂
Turtle Neck
A turtle neck top is my go-to item every winter. Needless to say I am super excited that it’s also a hot fashion trend this winter. This piece is from my collaboration with Zaful again and I love the outfit and the photography of the same. While it was pretty painful having to balance on a tiny slab on the railways track wearing high heels and holding up my crazy hair against the crazy wind. But once again, it was worth all the efforts!
Pussy Bow + Fuzzy Sweater
I wear pastel colors very rarely and whenever I do the posts come out brilliant. Am I praising myself too much? Well, that wasn’t the intention though (blush* blush). This post became very popular and some of you really liked it. So, I think it was good! Some of my friends found the title ‘pussy bow’ a bit weird but none the less, I sill consider it one of my best looks 🙂
That brings me to an end of my top fashion posts compilation and I hope you enjoyed browsing through my list of favorites. Be sure to click on the title links to check out the complete posts. I am so thankful to my husband Pankaj for making me look pretty in all my outfit shoots and making the photographs look so wonderful. Check out his gallery in Instagram and you are sure to fall in love with it!
Please don’t forget to keep following me on social media as I have a lot of interesting things planned out for all of you! Happy first Monday of the year! See you soon!
