Hey Guys! How is 2018 treating you so far?
I am looking forward to this year with a lot of hope and excitement, more so because 2017 wasn’t a great year for me in so many ways.
If you are a regular reader of my blog you’d know about the recap of my yearly OOTD posts. At the onset of every new year I take look back at the year gone by and put together a list of my favorite OOTD posts from the previous year. It is not only a fun way to start the year, it also helps me keep a track of how much me and my style changed and evolved in the last 12 months.
So, here are my top 15 favorite OOTD posts from 2017 in no specific order and I hope you love them as much as I do.
This look is my favorite because it is so me! Not like the other outfits are forced upon me or anything. I have styled all of them myself. But like always, I tend to like some OOTDs little more than the others and this outfit with the bomber jacket offers a perfect laid back weekend vibe that I love. I can’t remember if it was a weekend when I was wearing it though!
I had almost forgotten about this polka dress and then one fine day, while cleaning up my closet, I found it and wore it again. Looks like I am still in love with it and can wear it a lot longer. This dress is at least a few years old!
I love a goof bodycon dress and have quite a few of them. However, this OOTD is my favorite for many reasons. Ever since I have moved into Guwahati city it has always been a struggle to find decent photo shoot locations. Yes, there is nature and a lot of it but let’s face it, you can’t be standing amidst nature wearing every outfit, right? Some looks require a more urban set up, I mean a good looking urban set up. This shoot was done in a nearby city called Shillong and I love this background as much as I love my look. I think it is one of best backgrounds I have shot in the whole of 2017.
I am not particularly shy but there are few situations that make me uncomfortable, and doing my photo shoots in a coffee shop or a restaurant is one of them. This was probably my first outfit shot done in a coffee shop and therefore it is special to me. At least I could shed some of my inhibitions! Oh, and I love the look too 🙂
If you read my blog regularly you’d know that I keep falling in and out of love with denims. When I wear too much of denims and like to take a break by completely avoiding anything denim for sometime! It might sound weird but yeah, I do weird things sometimes! 🙂 So this is my no-denim phase and once again, a shoot inside a coffee shop! Yeah I know, I have come a long way right? 😉
I don’t even know why I like this look, but it is one of my favourite OOTDs! I think because it is a bit graphical, and because the mix of stripes with powder pink shade of corduroy is kind of cool. I also love my make up here as i rarely experiment much with make up and in this look I tried a new eye shadow.
I love this outfit mainly because I find it cute. Last summer was really hot and humid but strangely I didn’t wear that many denim shorts as I normally would have. May be I should buy a few more for next summer. Thus this was my one and only denim shorts OOTD last summer on the blog.
Once again, I love this post mainly for the background. We found this lovely mural on the roadside during out trip to Sikkim and thought it’d make the best backdrop for my outfit. It did! Also, I was new to the whole sneaker trend and fell in love with the comfort of a pair of sneakers while exploring a city as a tourist.
My first ever velvet dress that fits like a glove and I totally love the colour. If you remember velvet was out of fashion for a very very long time, so I can’t recall the last velvet item I had purchased before this dress. I also loved the fact that I could dress this look down a bit with the sneakers and the bomber jacket tied around the waist.
I love to throw on a kimono as a cover up during chilly summer days and isn’t this floral printed kimono absolutely pretty? I got it as a part of a collaboration from a brand (more details in the original post) and till date it’s one of my favorite pieces.
This looks is very classy and quirky and that is the reason it made it to my top 15 favorite OOTD of 2017! Usually there are high chances of an outfit to look tacky when so many different elements are mixed together, but in this outfit the metallic shade blended seamlessly with the stripes and solid shades. Thanks God for that! 🙂
Last year I rearranged my entire wardrobe after a very long time and discovered a lot of clothes I had almost forgotten about. This trouser is one such forgotten pair which, I realised, I am still very much in love with! I love a good blazer and a dress down version of office wear, I could do exactly that with this look.
Why is this one of my favourites from last year? Well, firstly it’s the colours, I mean I never imagined my corduroy jacket would exactly match my dress. And secondly, it is not a dress, it is actually a skirt! I experimented a bit and the outcome was pretty good, right?
I gave one of my old pairs of denims a makeover and create this distressed DIY jeans. I love mixing denim blue with red, these two colours are so made for each other. Plus this is a very easy look that instantly makes anyone look stylish. I save such looks for days when I don’t have time to wear something decent!
Last but not the least, I am so glad boot cut trend are back in fashion. this is my first pair after it’s comeback and I love them! I was getting too bored of wearing skinny jeans only 🙂
That’s the end of it guys and thanks for reading it all! I know it was a rather long post and it took me a long time to compile it. Thank God I could finally post it today. Do let me know if you have any favourites from my compilation. Any questions and comments are most welcome as always! 🙂 I have also added some shopping links in case you’d like to check out similar products that i am wearing.
