I love a good Do It Yourself tutorial. When I started my blog I remember sharing a lot of Do It Yourself tips and tricks.
I was younger and enthusiastic back then I suppose. I also remember my days as a Fashion Design student (NIFT) when I would make so many fashion accessories because I didn’t have the money to buy and I needed a variety. These days I hardly try my hands into anything crafty and creative. I would rather buy than create. I do get a lot of ideas but rarely execute them.
However, ever since I have started taking my YouTube channel seriously, I think I have started getting more crafty. I am under the pressure to shoot videos and a good D.I.Y is something everyone loves.
So, all thanks to vlogging, I recently gave two of my old denims a makeover and posted the D.I.Y Tutorial video on YouTube.
This is the first pair of denims that went through a makeover and I must say I haven’t lost my creativity entirely! 🙂 This pair was one of my favourites at one point of time but they had gone quite out-of-fashion for a while. First this pair was too long and second they are dangerously low waist. Thus I cut the hemline short, gave slits on either side and did a splatter print to revamp it’s look. On the video I promised to show how I style these pair after the makeover and here they are! Don’t they look super cool and trendy! Gosh, am so proud of myself! Ha..Ha!
But seriously, it is impossible to buy each and every trend each season and it is equally impossible to throw away some of your favorite pieces from the wardrobe (even if they are in best condition) just because they have gone out of fashion! I good Do It Yourself can help you retain those pieces and wear them a while longer till you genuinely get bored of them. I do not want to go on and on here as I have already dedicated a post on the new fashion trends and how important it is to buy them! 🙂
I can’t wait to show you the styling of my second pair of D.I.Y denims. I haven’t done the photo shoot yet but if I do, I promise that is going to be my next post. Don’t forget to check out the Do It Yourself tutorial on my YouTube channel in the meanwhile. Waiting for your feedback on my look today! 🙂
