Velvet Slip Dress

by

Today I am going to show you how to style a velvet slip dress! Well, one doesn’t need to know how to style velvet.

Velvet is so beautiful and luxurious a fabric that anything you wear in it is going to look sensuous, sophisticated and stylish!

Provided velvet is in during a season, which it is at the moment. But still, there are more than one way you can style a velvet dress and today I am wearing it the casual way.

As you all know I am recovering from Anaemia and I still feel very weak every now and then and do not feel like dressing up much. So, these days I have been dressing down my looks giving them cool casual feel because it takes slightly lesser effort to dress down than to dress up!

Thus my sexy, figure hugging velvet dress gets a casual vibe for the day too.

I have teamed my velvet dress with a bomber jacket and black & gold sneakers for the much needed comfort.

It’s still to hot in my city to take out warm clothes, but I do carry a light-weight cover up to keep myself warm when the AC is on. Plus this black bomber is a perfect transitional weather item which I can happily carry forward from last winter to the upcoming winter months.

I will keep my post short and sweet for the day as I have nothing eventful happening at the moment. I am working hard (rather eating right) to regain my energy and get back to the gym. I also have a shopping wishlist ready and I can’t wait to go out shopping soon!

Hope you liked my casual take on the velvet dress. If you like anything I am wearing in this post, scroll down for outfit details and links to similar products!

Love the effortless chic look. I always try to buy pieces that can be dressed in both ways: up or down. Love how you put together the velvet dress with the sneakers! Love, Isabel

You look amazing! I would’ve never thought to pair the shoes with the dress, but I love how it looks.

I love this fashion style. The red velvet dress looks so elegant but you did add a playful flair to the outfit by pairing it with sneakers! Awesome. Love it!

Sorry to hear about your anemia :/ I hope that you feel better soon, I have it too and it can have an effect on your energy levels. Eat plenty of bananas and steer away from fizzy drinks and anything that is too acidic. That helps a little bit. On another note I am loving the velvet slip dress x

That’s so pretty! I’ve never worn anything made of velvet before, but this dress is definitely a fashion piece without looking too over-the-top. Thanks for sharing.

I just love your velvet dress! I really love velvet, but have yet to find a piece I really love. But going to have to be on the lookout cause it’s gorgeous texture.

Your dress is very beautiful. I always need solemnity to fit my job. Would I like to replace my high boots with a pair of high boots?
