What is your go-to travel look? Mine is a Sporty Denim look!
Although athleisure or sporty casual is not quite my style. I love my outfits to be slightly dressier than that. But when I am exploring a new place, going sight-seeing and on my feet most part of the day, I believe a sporty denim look is a real winner. The comfortable, no-fuss and laid back feel of denim is pretty much what you desire at times like these. And giving a sporty twist to it only means adding extra comfort to your outfit.
For those of you who have not checked out my previous posts, I and Pankaj had visited Delhi a few weeks back and this is one of the many outfits that I had worn during the trip. Check out my YouTube Video called Delhi Diaries or read the Delhi travels posts by Pankaj here and here, to know more about our trip.
We visited Delhi in the month of September and the weather was quite humid during the day and got pleasant by evening with a few spells of rain. I had to keep the weather in mind while planning my outfit. I had to also keep in mind the fact that Delhi is not one of the safest places in India and any skin show might draw unnecessary attention and lead to unpleasant experience, something that one would try to avoid at any cost while on a holiday! However, the moment I arrived in Delhi my misconceptions were busted and I soon regretted not packing some of my summer mini dresses for the trip!
I have visited all the metro cities and some of the prominent cities in India. I have lived in Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Guwahati for several years. I was one of those who would squirm at the thought of visiting Delhi because, like many others, I too have heard horror stories particularly related to safety of women in the city.
Upon visiting Delhi this time after 17 years, one thing became very clear to me is that Delhi is as safe or unsafe as any other big cities in India.
I travelled by metros and been to a lot of different areas of Delhi (including the old Delhi area) and I didn’t experience anything even remotely uncomfortable or threatening. Of course, there are certain areas of the city and certain situations that one needs to avoid, and that rules is applicable in any part of the world. I personally didn’t experience anything unpleasant at all. On the contrary I really enjoyed the city!
I also saw the best street style in India in the streets of Delhi. I think that was one of the many things that I loved as a Fashion Blogger! I loved how almost 80% of the crowd put an effort to look good and express their personal style. It was indeed inspiring!
Therefore I did realize that the outfits that I wore in Delhi could have been little more weather appropriate. Nonetheless, I always mix fashion an comfort, more so when I am visiting a place as a tourist. So my sporty denim look was a good fit for the occasion. I am obsessed with oversized sunglasses lately so you will see me wearing them quite frequently. I borrowed the Adidas cross body bag from Pankaj because it complimented my outfit so well! Now that the boyfriend fit is here to stay a tad bit longer, I have all intentions of borrowing more stuff from Pankaj’s wardrobe. 🙂
If you like my sporty denim look, I have linked some similar products below that you might want to take a look at. It was wonderful talking to you again. I am currently following the schedule of publishing one blog post every Friday. So i will see you next Friday with another post.
