How to wear a metallic Sweatshirt? Easy! Just tuck it in your pants, skirt or whatever bottom you are wearing.
You know what? I don’t even know if I like this fashion trend enough to start wearing it, I mean the trend of tucking a sweatshirt into my skirt. I didn’t know what to do with all the extra bulk of fabric inside my skirt and giving the illusion of a wider waistline. That’s the last thing I would want to handle while dressing up or down. But I still gave it a try and trust me, I found it to be one of the most comfortable way to style a sweatshirt.
I am a colour freak and I try to wear all kinds of colours possible and I am glad I can pull them off as well. Lately I have been wearing grey coloured outfits and slowly falling in love with metallic shades. I was thrilled to receive this sweatshirt as a gift from Pankaj and quite pleasantly surprised to see him pick up just the right thing for me!
I love the metallic silver shade with gold sequin work on it. Who says you can’t mix gold and silver?!
I was wondering how to wear it though, because the most obvious choice was to create an athleisure look. I love mixing contrasting elements and therefore wearing a sweatshirt with a pencil skirt seemed right for my current state of mind. I was in a mood to dress down and yet look stylish. In this look however, I am dressing down a pencil skirt and dressing up a sweatshirt. Oh how I love toying around fashion rules!
I must warn you though, tucking in a sweatshirt is not one of the safest way to style it. It can look really tacky if you don’t pick the right kind of bottom to go with it. Ideally a high-waisted skirt/trousers made out of woven fabric is a good option. If you choose knitted fabric, it can make your midriff look bigger. I did pick a knit pencil skirt, but my sweatshirt isn’t very heavy so I could get away with it. Yes, that is how to wear a metallic sweatshirt tucked inside a pencil skirt!
