Layering a Leopard Dress

by

Of course you know by now how much I love wearing leopard prints. Needless to say I am always looking for an opportunity to wear my leopard printed summer clothes in winter too.

Layering clothes is the best way to take your summer pieces all the way to winter.

Alright, I have more of summer clothes in my wardrobe because I am from a warm, tropical country. I don’t have a leopard printed coat or a sweater yet, but even if I had one I couldn’t have worn it much. As you can see, my legs are comfortably bare even in December!

The dress I am wearing is very light weight and even though it is not very cold during the day, but it is chilly enough for some layering. Thus I wore my dress over the most predictable turtle neck top for some extra warmth and it felt good. Yeah, there are so many ways of layering clothes. I mean I could have worn a cardigan over this dress, right? May be I will do it the next time πŸ™‚

What are your favorite ideas of layering clothes in winter?

You will be surprised if I told you how old this dress is! I wore it only once back in 2013 which was the first year of my blog. It feels like a zillion years now! My photo shoots and styling were so different back then.

I really can’t believe it’s going to be 5 years since I started my blog.

Check out the post here if you would like to see how I styled this same dress 5 years back! πŸ™‚

It feels great when my makeup doesn’t melt off my face or I don’t start sweating like a pig while doing my photo shoots any more. It feels great to be able to wear my jackets and sweatshirts. The winter temperature is pretty good that ways and I love it. We plan a lot of outdoor activities during this time of the year and we will start going on our little day and weekend trips soon.

Also, I am beginning my count down to Christmas and myΒ  birthday, which actually falls on the same day. In fact I shared some of my ideas in my last post, so I can’t wait for this week to end.Β What are your plans for the Christmas and the holidays?

I absolutely love that dress! It’s a great idea to layer it with a polo neck for the cooler weather, you’ve got me wondering if there is anything in my wardrobe I could do something similar with!

I love that this dress is repurposed in a completely different way than five years ago. So fun that you showed your readers that we can take pieces from our closets and bring them back to life. Leopard print always reminds me of my daughter. From the time she was itty bitty, she gravitated toward bold prints like this. In fact, she had a leopard print swim suit that she insisted on wearing so we did this very thing with a turtle neck underneath (and tap shoes on her feet) Fun to remember .. x

Love this stylish look. Very well carried and beautiful pics. The leopard print is very up to the mark and not very over or hyped.
