Hey guys, how has been your weekend so far? Mine has been quite eventful as I had a long one starting from Thursday. Yes, it’s festive time in Ahmedabad and along with a day-off from work I could enjoy 4 days of pure bliss at home. However, I did take advantage of the free time and worked on several posts for my blog and here goes the first one.
I have mentioned quite a few times in some of my previous posts that work has been a lot hectic and I am not able to give enough time in taking care of myself. The results have not been very pleasant and it’s mostly showing on my skin. I am getting pigmentation due to sun-exposure and lately my skin has been getting patchy and uneven. So sticking by my beauty resolutions for 2016 I decided to invest in new products that can provide intensive care to my skin at this point. I have been hearing a lot about Dermalogica Power Bright Treatment Kit and after reading a lot of reviews on beauty blogs about it, I finally gave it a try!
At first I was a bit apprehensive as the price is a huge put-off when it comes to a beauty brand like Dermalogica, but once again the need to fix my uneven skin tone and all the good reviews that I read about this range of products gave me the confidence to buy this travel size kit priced at Rs.3995/- ($40) and individually the products are priced a lot higher than this. The kit consists of C-12 Power Bright serum, Pure light SPF 50 and Pure Night.
On a lighter note I found the packaging of the products quite premium and the tiny 10 ml bottles look kind of cute. But on a more serious note, of course when you are paying a high price everything including the graphics and the packaging of a product counts!
The C 12 Pure bright serum is light-weight which suits my sensitive skin. It has a very mild fragrance, something that you will hardly notice. I have been applying in on the uneven areas of my facial skin as per the instructions and although my freckles and patchy areas have reduced to an extent but the really stubborn acne scars are yet to disappear.
The Pure Light lotion comes with SPF 50 and as per the instructions on the pack I apply it after the serum as a day cream. This too has a light texture and contains peptides that claim to reduce melanin production in the skin. It does have a strong fragrance but a good one and I quite like it! I must say sun protection part of it really works well because I do see my skin getting less effected by the UV rays (unevenness and unsightly tanning) though I spend pretty much the same amount of time under the sun as before.
Pure night is a night cream with a mild fragrance. It has a light texture too and gets absorbed real quick on my skin. I have a combination skin which breaks out quite easily and Pure Night is giving the right amount of moisturiser without getting heavy on my pores.
I do see a lot of improvement in my overall skin texture even though I am using this treatment kit for only a week now. My skin feels a lot more radiant and even. Dermalogica Power Bright does live up to their claims and I am definitely going to recommend this range to anybody feeling frustrated about their patchy skin with scars. However, I still recommend staying away from the sun as much as possible special during the dreaded hours between 10am to 3 pm for any such products to work more effectively.
If you try out this products don’t forget to share with me your experiences too! Hope it’s as good as mine 🙂
